1. Wear Your Florals

While a bridal bouquet is a traditional accessory for a garden party wedding, there are many different ways to incorporate floral details into your look. You can create a stunning floral crown using fresh flowers that complement your wedding theme and color scheme or opt for simpler hair accessories with small clusters of fresh flowers on pins, clips, or combs. These can be strategically placed throughout an updo or incorporated into a loose hairstyle for a romantic look. Another method would be attaching small, delicate flowers to the edge of your veil for a soft, ethereal effect. The groomsmen can wear matching floral boutonnieres too! If you’re looking to elevate your bridal party looks with a fresh twist consider opting for vibrant floral prints and bright hues for your bridesmaid’s dresses. Who needs a bouquet when you have a stunning group of blossoming besties by your side?!

2. DIY Flower Arrangements

Creating DIY floral centerpieces adds a personalized touch to your wedding decor while allowing you to unleash your creativity. Follow these step-by-step instructions to assemble stunning arrangements:

  1. Select Affordable Flowers and Greenery: Choose flowers and greenery that fit your budget and complement your wedding theme. Opt for in-season blooms or consider purchasing from local flower markets for affordable options.
  2. Gather Your Materials: You’ll need flower vases, bud vases, clay pots, or any containers, floral foam, scissors or floral shears, and floral tape.
  3. Prepare Your Containers: Fill your containers with floral foam and secure them in place with floral tape to create a stable base for your arrangements.
  4. Start Arranging: Begin by adding your greenery to the floral foam, creating a lush and full base for your centerpiece. Trim the stems as needed to achieve your desired height and shape.
  5. Add Your Flowers: Once your greenery is in place, start adding your flowers, layering them to create depth and texture. Experiment with different colors and varieties to achieve the look you want.
  6. Incorporate Unique Elements: To personalize your centerpieces and match your wedding theme, consider incorporating unique elements such as feathers, pampas grass, ribbons, or decorative accents that reflect your style as a couple.

3. Potted Place Cards

Using potted plants as place cards adds a charming and intimate touch to your wedding decor. Selecting and personalizing potted plants allows couples to infuse their personality into the seating arrangements while also offering eco-friendly and practical benefits.

Suitable plants for potted place cards include succulents, herbs, and small flowering plants that can thrive indoors or outdoors. Couples can personalize each pot by adding guests’ names or initials, and even include a small message or quote to make them feel special. Incorporating potted place cards into the overall wedding theme is easy and versatile. For a rustic theme, opt for vintage-style pots or baskets and tie them with twine or ribbon. For a more elegant affair, choose sleek ceramic pots or glass terrariums adorned with elegant calligraphy.

4. Florals, Florals, and More Florals!

Integrating floral elements throughout the wedding venue is crucial for creating a cohesive and enchanting atmosphere reminiscent of a flower garden wedding reception. Consider incorporating flowers into unexpected areas such as signage, seating, and lighting to add a touch of elegance and charm to every corner of the space. From hanging floral installations and floral-adorned chairs to floral-decorated candle holders and even floral-infused cocktails, the possibilities are endless for incorporating flowers into wedding venue decor in unique and creative ways.

To create a cohesive look, couples can strategically place florals throughout the venue by considering the overall theme and color palette of their wedding. For example, they can use similar types of flowers and color schemes across different elements of the decor, such as table centerpieces, ceremony arches, and reception areas. Additionally, they can work with their florist to create floral arrangements that complement the venue’s existing architecture and decor, ensuring that every floral accent seamlessly blends into the overall ambiance of the event.

5. Lush Garlands

Couples can incorporate floral garlands into their wedding décor in a multitude of creative ways. For the ceremony, they can drape garlands along the aisle chairs or pews, creating a whimsical pathway for the bride and groom. Garlands can also adorn arches or arbors, framing the couple as they exchange vows and adding a romantic backdrop to the proceedings. At the reception, floral garlands can be draped across tables as table runners, adding a pop of color and texture to the reception space. They can also be hung from ceilings or wrapped around pillars, transforming the venue into a lush and enchanting space. Additionally, couples can use garlands to decorate focal points such as the sweetheart table, cake table, or photo booth, adding a cohesive and elegant touch to these areas.

To customize floral garlands to match their color scheme and style, couples can work closely with their florist to select flowers and greenery that complement their overall wedding aesthetic. They can choose blooms that align with their chosen color palette and incorporate elements such as ribbons, crystals, or feathers to add personal touches and enhance the garlands’ visual appeal.

Incorporate the floral theme into your flower invitations to give your guests a glimpse of the natural beauty that awaits. This cherished practice dates back centuries and symbolizes fertility, prosperity, and happiness for the newlyweds.

Sourcing and preparing flower petals for confetti is a delightful process that can be both eco-friendly and budget-friendly. I can’t express enough how much I love Alexander Homestead! I fell in love with the garden venue the moment I saw it. It is a hidden gem in Charlotte. Carolann, my wedding coordinator is phenomenal and she and her staff blew everyone away at the wedding! I got so many compliments about how beautiful the venue was and how wonderful the staff were; they took care of everything and made the night truly wonderful and a dream come true! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone! They also do events throughout the year, including a Christmas event. They allow couples to come to events even after they get married. They want everyone to feel welcome and like part of the family. Thank you for making my dream come true and for such a wonderful venue, there is nothing else like it!
